Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a reporter for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell began her career in the field of radio and television reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. She was then a reporter for the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) and was stationed which was based in Washington DC. In Washington she was made general reporter by NBC News two year later. From 1981 onwards she began covering the White House. In 1988 she was named head of the congressional reporters. Mitchell was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992. And the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV program Meet the Press and also hosted the program. Mitchell was a part of the panel during 1988 presidential debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded numerous times for her journalism achievements, such as the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. She was also honored by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell reported on the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. The reporting she did included plenty of significant stories, including the Iran-contra affair, the budget and tax reform in addition to the issue of arms control. Mitchell traveled extensively together with the president Reagan during summits with Mikhail Gorbachev.
